Welcome to North Vernon Indiana - Jennings County

North Vernon Indiana is part of south-central Indiana in Jennings County. Nestled along the winding banks of the Muscatatuck River the city enjoys all four seasons of the year making it an incredibly attractive place.  North Vernon Indiana has over 100 acres of parks.  One of the most notable and highly utilized parks is the Muscatatuck Park.  Only steps away from our downtown area this park is unique in that it is an  extreme sports park that hosts rock climbing, biking, wooded & scenic running trails, sand volleyball, camping, shelter houses all nestled alongside with beautiful views of the Muscatatuck River.  Do not forget to stop by Vinegar Mill while at the park and head on down to the stair of Vinegar Miller to enjoy wading in the river and skipping rocks just like years of past.  There are also several spots to sit and soak up nature along the river.

Tipton Park is in the heart of downtown North Vernon Indiana and consists of 50+ acres of rolling landscape. Tipton Park features a new welcome center, wide paved trails, outdoor exercise equipment, disc golf, playground, 3 large pavilions, fishing, outdoor exercise pad and an amphitheater. Tipton Park was formerly a 9-hole golf course known as Muscatatuck Country Club, and now has become a paradise for outdoor enthusiast to enjoy.
